Overview
Truck Graph ("we," "us," "our") operates truckgraph.com as a free public directory of US freight carriers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information we collect
Automatically collected
When you visit Truck Graph, our servers automatically log standard access information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This data is used exclusively for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
Voluntarily provided
If you contact us via email (e.g., to report a data error or make a press inquiry), we retain your email address and message content solely to respond to your request. We do not add contact information to marketing lists or share it with third parties.
What we do NOT collect
- Truck Graph does not require user accounts or logins
- We do not collect payment information
- We do not use advertising pixels or retargeting cookies
- We do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking technologies
Carrier data and public records
All carrier information displayed on Truck Graph is sourced from public federal records maintained by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. This includes carrier names, addresses, fleet sizes, safety records, and authority status. This information is a matter of public record and is not subject to privacy removal requests under US law. For data correction requests (not removal), contact corrections@truckgraph.com.
Google Analytics
Truck Graph uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, referring sources, browser type, and general geographic location (country/region level). This data is aggregated and used solely to improve the service.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish users and sessions. Google may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party services
Truck Graph uses the following third-party services that may process visitor data in the course of delivering our service:
- Hosting provider — servers and CDN for page delivery
- DNS provider — domain name resolution
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic analysis (see section above)
We do not sell visitor data to any third party. We do not use advertising networks or retargeting services.
Data retention
Server access logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Contact form submissions are retained for 1 year after the last communication, then deleted. Carrier data from public records is retained indefinitely as part of our public directory function.
Your rights
You may request deletion of any personal data we hold about you (such as email correspondence) by contacting hello@truckgraph.com. Since we do not maintain user accounts, there is no profile data to access or port. California residents may exercise CCPA rights by contacting us at the same address.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes affecting visitor data will be noted prominently on our homepage for 30 days.
